A Systemic Family Approach in Working with Child Victims of Violence.Sofija Georgievska & Slavica Naumova Josifovska - 2023 - Годишен зборник на Филозофскиот факултет/The Annual of the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje 76 (1):657-670.
This paper presents a case study that explores the application of systemic family therapy in working with children who are victims of violence within their family. The case study focuses on the Johnson family, comprising a father, mother, and their two children, who sought therapy after a traumatic incident of domestic violence. The therapeutic approach utilized a systemic family therapy framework, aiming to address the complex dynamics resulting from the violence and its impact on family members. The goals include providing (...)

    Humanism and Theoretical Pluralism.Slavica Jakelić - 2014 - Journal of Religious Ethics 42 (1):156-166.
Christian Smith's What Is a Person? calls for a normative turn in sociology—the grounding of sociology in a theory of human nature. While offering a systematic account of a thick view of personhood—what it should look like, how it can be applied, and why it is needed—the book proposes a critical realist personalism as the best metatheoretical direction for sociology. The author of this essay agrees with the main questions and direction of Smith's project. However, by historicizing the origins and (...)

Dimensionality and reliability of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales 21 among adolescents in North Macedonia.Katerina Naumova - 2022 - Frontiers in Psychology 13.
This study examined the structural validity and reliability of the DASS-21 in a large sample of secondary school students from North Macedonia. Based on theoretical and empirical considerations, five structural models were compared using confirmatory factor analysis. The original three-factor model provided good fit to the data; however, high interfactor correlations indicated that the depression, anxiety, and stress factors were indistinguishable. The bifactor solution yielded superior fit relative to other tested models. Factor loading patterns revealed a strong general factor and (...)

Fathers of the Church in the spiritual culture of medieval Russia.N. V. Naumova - 1998 - Ukrainian Religious Studies 7:52-60.
The spiritual world of medieval Russia can be represented by the works of the most characteristic, brightest and most revered authors. Among them, undoubtedly, such as John Chrysostom, John Climacus, Isaac the Syrian, Basil the Great. The first place in popularity in Russia at all times is John Chrysostom. His Words, i.e. Some small works on this or that topic were compiled into special collections or textbooks by Zlatostruj, Zlatoust, Margarit, and sometimes the name of Zlatoust was signed by works (...)

Spiritual and religious searches of Kievan Rus.N. Naumova - 1999 - Ukrainian Religious Studies 11:3-9.
Today it is becoming increasingly apparent that the development of civilization takes place in at least two different ways. This is the path of the East and the West in the broad sense. The East did not give birth to such a variety of philosophical thought as the West, but it is unlikely that the spiritual world of the East can be regarded as being poorer. Rather the opposite. At the same time, comparing the spiritual world of the East and (...)

Re-defining moral distress: A systematic review and critical re-appraisal of the argument-based bioethics literature.Christine Sanderson, Linda Sheahan, Slavica Kochovska, Tim Luckett, Deborah Parker, Phyllis Butow & Meera Agar - 2019 - Clinical Ethics 14 (4):195-210.
The concept of moral distress comes from nursing ethics, and was initially defined as ‘…when one knows the right thing to do, but institutional constraints make it nearly impossible to pursue the right course of action’. There is a large body of literature associated with moral distress, yet multiple definitions now exist, significantly limiting its usefulness. We undertook a systematic review of the argument-based bioethics literature on this topic as the basis for a critical appraisal, identifying 55 papers for analysis. (...)

Paternalism and autonomy: views of patients and providers in a transitional country.Lucija Murgic, Philip C. Hébert, Slavica Sovic & Gordana Pavlekovic - 2015 - BMC Medical Ethics 16 (1):1-9.
BackgroundPatient autonomy is a fundamental, yet challenging, principle of professional medical ethics. The idea that individual patients should have the freedom to make choices about their lives, including medical matters, has become increasingly prominent in current literature. However, this has not always been the case, especially in communist countries where paternalistic attitudes have been interwoven into all relationships including medical ones. Patients’ expectations and the role of the doctor in the patient-physician relationship are changing. Croatia, as a transitional country, is (...)

    Dmytro Ivanovich Chyzhevśkyi – Ukrainian-Russian Scholar, Professor In Germany.Brigitte Flickinger - 2021 - Multiversum. Philosophical Almanac 2 (2):101-126.
This is an intellectual-biographical research essay on D. I. Chyzhevśkyi (1894-1977), the internationally renowned Ukraine scholar, expert on the history of philosophy, on Russian and Ukrainian philology and Slavic-German intercultural relations. He studied at Saint Petersburg University 1911-1913 and at Kyiv University 1916-1919 where he graduated with distinction. His would have been a promising academic career, however, in 1921, for political reasons Chyzhevśkyi felt compelled to leave Ukraine. He went to Germany, studied with E. Husserl in Freiburg/Breisgau, met M. Heidegger, (...)

Ingunn Lunde, Verbal celebrations. Kirill of Turov's homiletic rhetoric and its Byzantine sources.Lara Sels - 2005 - Byzantinische Zeitschrift 97 (1):222-223.
The monograph under review, written as a doctorate in 1999 and later revised and supplemented, offers a searching analysis of the form and function of rhetoric in the Pascal-Pentecost cycle of the 12th century homilist Cyril of Turov, together with an examination of the Byzantine sources. Lunde scrutinizes eight festal homilies for the period from Palm Sunday to the Sunday before Pentecost, using the edition by Igor' Erëmin [TODL 11–13,15 (1955–1958), reprinted as Literaturnoe nasledie Kirilla Turovskogo: Archeologičeskij obzor I izdanie (...)
